Downs and ups of IT jobs

The Information Technology job market is bouncing back from the depths of Covid-19.

An estimated 69,000 jobs have been added so far in 2021, according to ComputerWorld.com and Janco Associates, an employment consultancy.

This growth means the IT job market in the United States at the end of June was 16,700 filled positions ahead of the 2020 peak in February — the month before Covid struck.

Over 100,000 IT jobs disappeared in spring 2020, but “two-thirds of those came back as the year progressed,” computerworld.com reported.

“Still, 2020 ended with 33,200 fewer IT jobs in the US compared to 2019.”

Janco estimated there are more than 3.6 million IT pro jobs in the US.
